When you think of Knysna you usually think of the lagoon, ocean, Nature trails and pristine beauty of the indigenous forests. But there is another aspect which Knysna is famous for - delicious food and vibrant nightlife. Knysna boasts at least fifty restaurants, pubs and fast food outlets. These cater for all tastes and budgets. Knysna Oysters are becoming famous around the world and visitors love to begin their evenings activities with a delightful sundowner of beer and oysters at the Oyster Bar. The Waterfront has a great atmosphere on a warm summer evening and offers every type of food from ho-hum hamburgers to delicious cordon bleu treats.
For the younger set Chilli Groove is the palace to chill out and get into the music mood. For a swinging time you can't beat Al's Dance club. The disco and live music comes alive after midnight and carries on thumping till just before dawn.
